How to use the proformas
All student work has been moderated using proformas.
Each individual piece of evidence is assessed using the ‘Evidence for scaling’ proformas. These proformas are available for three different modes and at each Band. The proformas differ for each Band to reflect the increasing complexity of the Scales. However, they are consistent within and across Bands. The examples below therefore demonstrate the process used for all proformas and at all Bands.
You can view examples of completed ‘Evidence for scaling’ proformas in each of the three modes:
- Written (using Early Years as an example)
- Oral (using Middle Years as an example)
- Multimodal (using Senior Years as an example)
Whilst each piece of evidence is moderated using the ‘Evidence for scaling’ proforma, students are assigned a Scale by drawing all pieces together into one set using the ESL Scales commentary. You can view an explanation of how the moderators have completed the ESL Scales commentary.
You can download blank proformas from the Download section of this site.
